Oh NICE! I didn't see the girl being drained in the BG, when I spotted her it just made me grin, mad artist indeed.

Painting with human blood doesnt really work in real life, I'm sure if you mixed it with something, maybe a gesso it would be okay, but it just dries brown and tends to flake off. I think every kid in art school tries it at least once lol.

Oh wow! I love the perspective on this and the way he's looking down at you! It's unnerving and makes me think that I'm the subject of the painting! :fear:

Also one question, was your process for this piece the one where you have every object on its own separate layer? (like brushes, jars, liquid in jars, etc) And if so, do you do that all the time, or only with more complex subject matter?

It depends on the scene, if there's lots of overlap it's generally a good idea because it saves you from having to repaint the edges over and over, which would just be a waste of time o_ov

Oh my that's creepy. So much atmosphere I can feel the cold humid air on my skin. And then there's the choice of perspective. It makes the viewer small like a mouse.
With this in mind there's only two things I'm missing in this piece:
1. That he looks straight at the viewer. Right now he's like "Did I put that glass there?"
2. Include what disturbed him to look away from what he was doing in the first place.

So that's just a little rambling from my point of view. Your technique is absolutely stunning! Keep up the good work!

I just felt the painter is looking back at the body he is painting from life. We are looking at the scene from the perspective of the corpse.

Of course. That makes sense :) But if he's painting her lying down then why is his painting in portrait position?

Maybe the table is longer than it is wide from his perspective? :) I think the expression on his face suggests mild concentration, like he is trying to get the proportions right on his painting, contrast eerily and beautifully with the grotesque scene itself.

This is amazing, the perspective, his stare, the whole atmosphere - it's brilliant.
And I didn't notice the corpse on the wall at first. Had to stare at it for a minute. It's so ...white that your eyes have to get used to it first. xD
Amazing!
