I showed my brother these steps and he was so impressed with how you went from the beginning sketch to a very realistic portrait! Your digital skills are amazing, and I do admire your painting technique!

Hey Hannes, I've been wondering if you could elaborate a bit about painting methods and which brushes you used? And how did you get the colour scheme right? It's amazing how you got all of it so great, and seeing the steps made me realize how different is your way of painting than mine, I'm just really, really curious to know how to paint with such smooth, painterly strokes, if you know what I mean. Also your use of diffused light is amazing. I always tend to use to vivid colours and lights, I'd love so much to hear about how you do it :D I'll be happy to share something in return, though I doubt there's anything you'll find useful ;)

This progression is really fascinating! Like seeing WHEN you decided to add the lighting, or finish this part as opposed to that part. So interesting!

It's interesting to see how her features changed from the initial stages to the final ones. Was this entirely deliberate? I sometimes find that with my portraits, features change without me noticing, and then I end up struggling to get them right back to the initial sketchy stages (which I actually find, as a general rule, more vivid and expressive).

I absolutely love seeing your process :) Quite inspiring - and I remember your first sketch/progress thread on Pixelbrush, and to see what you can do now....I repeat myself, incredibly inspiring :D I love watching artists grow, it gives me hope lol.
